Obaseki inspects new-look Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium

The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has inspected ongoing work at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, which is being reconstructed into a modern sporting complex.
The governor was joined by Nigeria’s Minister of Sports, Sunday Dare, who is in the state for the unveiling of the mascot and theme song for the 2020 National Sports Festival, holding in the state.
The reconstruction work at the stadium includes revamp of the tennis court and swimming pool sections of the complex, aimed at reinvigorating the state’s sporting scene.
The new-look stadium is being fitted with a canopy cover as well as other modern equipment for hosting international sporting competitions.
It has already been penciled down as a potential host of the 2020 Under 20 Women World Cup, if Nigeria clinches the hosting rights.
