Supreme Court:  Governor Ortom urges opposition to join him to develop Benue State

We return all the glory to Almighty God and I appreciate Benue people who were vessels in God’s hands to give me this victory. I remain grateful and I owe them good governance, dividends of democracy and cooperation in ensuring that we add value to the development of Benue State. Politics is now over, elections are over; tribunal and appeal cases are all over. Supreme Court is the final bus stop and so we can now work together.
I want to invite the opposition and all those who contested against me to join me so that together we can add value to the development of Benue State. Benue State belongs to all of us and the responsibility of adding value to the development is the responsibility of all of us. I therefore invite all Benue sons and daughters irrespective of their party affiliation or whatever affiliation to join us so that we can work together. I appreciate the media and all stakeholders in Benue State I appreciate you. Now I am the Governor of all whether PDP or APC or non partisan people, the entire people of Benue State I am their Governor and Supreme Court has confirmed this so let us work together. I invite every one with creative ideas or any other thing that can add value to the development of Benue State let us work together because we need one another for success.
I want to specially thank Benue civil servants and I appreciate them for the understanding right from 2015 to date. Today we are negotiating the minimum wage. I am not opposed to it. If have my way and the resources are adequate, I will be paying them more than N30,000 minimum wage because they deserve it. And I know the impact of the civil service on the economy of the state and what they mean to our people and so we will come up with something that will be sustainable and accepted. It is going to be a win win thing for both Government and the civil servants.
Thank you very much and God bless you.
