PHALGA MAYOR LAYS FOUNDATION STONE FOR A NEW POLICE STATION IN ABALI PARK DIVISION

In a major move to improve the security of lives & properties around the isaac boro park flyover axis of portharcourt city and also to enhance the productivity of police officers in Abali park division, Mayor of Portharcourt City Hon Victor Ihunwo JP laid the foundation stone for the construction of a new police station in Abali park division.
Hon Victor Ihunwo said the construction of a new police station will be funded 100% by the city council. He said tacking criminal elements and reducing crime and criminality in portharcourt city is one of his  cardinal objectives as Mayor of the city.
The Mayor said asides the police division in oyigbo local government the Abali park division is the only police division situated on the major express way so as such deserves a befitting status.
“In July last year Governor Nyesom Wike commissioned operation sting to fight crime in the state,in whatever way we as a council think we can support the Governor in this task we are totally sold out to it.Hence we support the police 100% in terms of logistics, I have directed the contractor to handover this project in 6weeks so officers in this division can begin to operate from comfortable offices.”The Mayor said.
The new police station will have 5 offices,a general office,an office for the divisional police officer,2cells for male and female,exhibit stand,armoury, reception desk,5 toilets and bathrooms.
In his speech the divisional police officer for Abali park division Lawrence Ojo thanked the Mayor for the noble gesture and assured the Mayor that they will maintain the facility, he said with this new station his men will work creditably both in the day and night.
