PDP governors pass vote of confidence on Tukur

Despite insinuations that PDP Governors were plotting to sack the National Chairman of the PDP, Bamanga Tukur, the governors on Thursday passed a vote of confidence on him.

The governors at a meeting held at the Akwa Ibom Lodge declared that they would work with Tukur and President Jonathan to develop the nation.

It was gathered that the Governors resolved to support Tukur after leaders of the North East declared that they had no other candidate to present. His geo-political zone lined up behind him.

The governors after their meeting went to brief President Jonathan on their resolution.

Also on Thursday, members of the PDP caucus of the House of Representatives held their meeting. The members also could not muster the support to oust the PDP chairman.

Surprisingly, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal who facilitated the defection of his colleagues attended the meeting. His reason for attendance was not made known to the public as he has effectively shifted base.
