Akure—THe Senate President, David Mark, leading the Reconciliation and Integration Committee working on agreeable resolution of the grey areas in the defection of Governor Olusegun Mimiko to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, met with the aggrieved parties yesterday.
Vanguard gathered that the meeting scheduled for Abuja held late in the night.
Governor Mimiko left Akure, the state capital yesterday, while the state Chairman of the PDP, Hon. Ebenezer Alabi was also in Abuja for the meeting.
The meeting, according to source is at the instance of President Goodluck Jonathan who directed the Senate President to look into the complaints of the PDP leaders.
Vanguard learnt that the Committee is to iron out some grey areas identified by the state working committee of the party in the agreement entered into by leaders of the party with the governor.
Leaders of the party in the state had insisted that the agreement reached with the governor by their National leaders without their input on sharing of party positions was unacceptable to them.
The defection of the governor had generated furore over the composition of the state executives of the party.
Also to be tabled before the committee is the request of the old PDP for cabinet positions in the state Executive Council and the dissolution of the state Working Committee.
