The leadership of Labour Party in the FCT says it will involve the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) in its affairs in line with its constitution.
Mr Felix Ashimole, the Chairman of the party in the territory, said on Wednesday in Abuja that their involvement would enable the party to realise its objectives on labour movement.
“We also intend to get the executive members of the party at state, council and ward levels to attend NLC trainings, to equip them to function well in their various capacities,” he said.
Ashimole promised that the party would be established in all the 62 wards in the FCT.
He said that the party’s current skeletal structure in the FCT required “a little fleshing up’’.
He said that the chapter’s new executive, inaugurated on Aug. 4, would train its members at all levels.
The chairman congratulated Gov. Rauf Aregbesola on his re-election, saying the will of the people of Osun prevailed in the exercise.
He also congratulated Alhaji Fatai Akinbade, the party’s candidate in the state, for coming third in the election.
