Beware of APC’ s bait , Lagos PDP tells okada riders

Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP )

on Wednesday described the All Progressives Congress ( APC)

as a party notorious for deliberately misrepresenting facts to

deceive Lagosians and malign the PDP .

It has also warned commercial motorcyclists in the state to

be wary of the antics of the state government to bribe them

by temporarily allowing them on restricted roads ahead of the

coming elections.

The party , in a rebuttal of a report credited to the APC state

Chairman , Oladele Ajomale, that the PDP is behind the return

of commercial motorcyclists ( okada riders ) on Lagos roads ,

said the statement is a figment of Ajomale’s imagination .

In a statement by its publicity secretary , Taofik Gani , the PDP

further described Ajomale’s accusation as disgraceful and

mischievous , adding that it is the APC that has now decided to

allow the okada riders , beggars and street traders to return on

all Lagos roads in a bid to secure their votes in the

forthcoming general elections.

“ For sake of clarity , PDP will not undermine the rights of

Lagosians to move around or do business within the

acceptable and humane rules.

“ We shall indeed allow enabling environment for all to eke out

a living lawfully . We are thus surprised that the APC can at

this time accuse the PDP of violating a draconian law that

they had enforced for over three years.

“ It is a known fact that it is the APC populated Lagos State

House of Assembly that is presently considering a law to

allow okada riders return on restricted roads .

“ It is also a fact that the Governor has directed the state

enforcement units to suspend the arrest of ‘okada’ riders ,

beggars and street traders . This is in a bid to woo the

aggrieved people into voting for APC in coming election
