A House of Representatives aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Sulaiman Ismail, over the weekend, donated hospital equipment, valued millions of naira, to primary health centres in his catchment areas of Ogun State.
Donation of the hospital equipment was in furtherance of government’s policy of Private Public Partnership (PPP), which was geared towards moving the health sector in the state, particularly in the Ogun East Senatorial District, forward.
The hospital equipment, which included electric and manual beds, electronic and manual paediatric mattresses, paediatric scales for new born babies, crutches, wheel chairs, examination tables, among others, are to be distributed to the Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs) in each of the 32 wards of the three local government areas of Ijebu North-East, Ijebu East and Ogun Waterside.
Speaking with journalists at the venue of the community empowerment programme in Ijebu-Ife, in the Ijebu East Local Government area, Ismal said he was compelled to make the donation having been convinced that the state government alone cannot do it.
Ismail explained that he was donating the hospital equipment to assist the people of the state as against the conventional ways of motorcycle empowerment having been convinced that the community and Nigeria as a country is seriously confronted with issues of health challenges.
