One time Lagos State Chairman of the defunct All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) and now a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Abiodun Adetunji-Oyebolu, has said the greatest challenge facing APC at the moment is how to choose from among those aspiring to lead the country in 2015.
“The greatest problem facing the party now is how to select the Presidential flag bearer from the number of those aspiring to be President of the country,” he said.
Adetunji, who was a former Chairman of the Surulere Local Government, spoke to Daily Independent in Lagos. He advised the leadership of his party to be discreet and visionary in the choice of the candidate that will represent it in the February 2015 Presidential election.
He said though the current political situation in the country favours APC to win the next election, the party must be careful not jeopardises the opportunity by fielding a wrong candidate.
“The victory of APC in the next Presidential election will be determined by the choice of its presidential candidate,” he noted.
He promised that the party would conduct rancour free primaries that will be the envy of the ruling peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
