Adamawa PDP Rejects NWC Sanction, Pass Vote Of Confidence On EXCOs

The Adamawa State chapter of the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has passed a vote of confidence on its executives and rejected the decision of the National Working Committee (NWC), which dissolved the state’s executives.

The state chapter of the party accused the party’s NWC of taking decisions without recourse to the state executives or the governor, adding that the action of the party’s national secretariat is inimical to the party’s progress.

The State chapter of the party made this known to journalists during a meeting, which had several local government and ward chairmen of the peoples democratic party in the state in attendance, to pass a vote of confidence on the state executives.

They said the sanction by the national working committee is capable of affecting the success of the party in the state.

However, a member of the Board of Trustee of the party, Ambassador Wilberforce Juta, promised to uncover the cause of the decision by the national secretariat of the party

Meanwhile, the NWC of the party said it has reviewed its decision on Adamawa state.

In a statement by the National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh, the party said, “the national working committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at its 392nd meeting reviewed the state of the party in Adamawa and Ebonyi states in the light of the appeals and interventions of critical stakeholders together with the remorse demonstrated by the executives and resolved accordingly.”

He said the party decided to “commute the dissolution of the Adamawa and Ebonyi states executive committees to the one-month suspension of the authors of the offensive publications, in particular Chief Joel Madaki, state chairman and Barr A.T. Shehu, secretary of the party in Adamawa State; Uche Ali Ega, state secretary and Amaechi Oken, state organising secretary of the party in Ebonyi State and one Mr Ben Akpa.
