Controversial former Police Commissioner, Abubakar Tsav has alleged that the Benue State Government, the police and some PDP leaders have been involved in extra-judicial killings of innocent persons.
He said that the police colluded with a leading politician in the state to unleash terror on the people and kill over 50 innocent persons. This is contained in a petition he wrote to the National Human Rights Commission, NHRC.
The NHRC held a public hearing for the petition in which officials of the Benue State Government vehemently denied the allegations.
Counsel to the government, Samuel Tsumba said that the onus to prove the allegations lie with Mr Tsav. He said that corpses in question at the General Hospital, Gboko were corpses of unclaimed accident victims.
The former Lagos Police Commissioner has always engaged in political controversies that are difficult to substantiate other than the temporary media hype generated.
