Plateau resident allege mercenaries invasion, claims four persons feared dead

The weekend attack on Kombul village in Mangu local government area of Plateau State was not a robbery attack as claimed by the Special Task Force, STF, an eye-witness Bulus Dabai has claimed.

He also claimed that four persons lost their lives in the attacks by men he alleged are mercenaries, whilst several others were injured.

According to Dabai, “it is not true that only one person died in the attack. These are my people. I am saying four died, and three people were injured.”

On Saturday, the Spokesman of the STF, Captain Salisu Mustapha, said that the Divisional Police (DPO) in the area told him on phone that only one person was killed while two others were critically injured.

Captain Mustapha said that the troops of the STF promptly went to the scene as soon as they got information about the attack, adding that the assailants took to their heels when they got winds of the arrival of the soldiers. He said the invaders abandoned their vehicles and fled.

It was gathered that the hoodlums on arrival in the village, started shooting sporadically in the air and headed straight to the compound where they pounded them leading to the death of the four people.
