CHAIRMAN, House of Representatives Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Honourable Zakari Mohammed, on Thursday, disclosed that the much awaited report of House ad hoc committee on the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) is ready and would soon be presented for consideration.
The House spokesman, while briefing newsmen, also disclosed that President Goodluck Jonathan had submitted a compressed report of the 2014 national conference to the National Assembly, saying that the report had already been circulated to members before consideration.
To this end, he said, that all things being equal, the report could be considered by the House next week.
He said it was untrue that quick passage of the PIB was being frustrated, saying “we don’t give credence to rumours. The PIB is a very sensitive legislation. A number of issues have come up with political and zonal connotations. There are no unseen hands stalling the presentation of the PIB report.”
