A group that goes by the name The Redemptive Progressives Group of the Nigerian Civil Service Union, Plateau State Chapter, has raised an alarm that the administration of the Nigerian Civil Service Union has been enmeshed in unprecedented corrupt practices, mudslinging of membership and total abuse of rights of innocent members by “the so-called members in Council.”
Addressing a press conference yesterday in Jos, the group’s chairman, Comrade Lapson Suleiman said the shocking aspect of it all is the undignified silence and acceptance of hide and seek style of leadership by the state executive council and the so-called administrative council members.
Suleiman pointed out that the purported delegate conference slated for today should not hold as their shallow preparation negates the relevant provisions of the union’s laws to avoid any break down of the fragile peace being currently enjoyed in the state, “as our members are battle-ready to match any attempt to make this activity outside the provisions of the Union’s Constitution.”
He said that his members will resist further attempts to put oneself in power at all costs, adding that no single human being is indispensable, “no single mortal owns the monopoly of the union. We all have equal rights and responsibilities as stakeholders to lead and be led in the affairs of the union.”
