Four soldiers under investigation over illegal duty

Four soldiers contracted by one Cynthia Echewozu to mercilessly beat up a trader Anyatonwu Chimezie are presently facing investigation and possible dismissal from service.

The four soldiers (names witheld) are serving with the Kurudu Post Housing Scheme Barrack.

Scan-News gathered that the said Cynthia had a relationship conflict with Chimezie upon which she went to one of the soldiers, allegedly paid him to carry out the illegal duty.

Cynthia, a staff of Woodmark Plaza Hotel in Jikwoyi, a suburb of Abuja watched as the four hired soldiers battered and inflated injuries on Chimezie, a trader.

Chimezie filed a complaint at the Jikwoyi Police State. The police started arrested Cynthia who revealed the identity of the hired soldier, who in turn implicated his colleagues.

Since then, Police have contacted the commanded of the Kurudu Barracks who has cooperated with them to resolve the case.

The commandant is under pressure to faciltate the dismissal of the soldiers, so that they can face trial.
