Nigeria at the weekend marked the World Humanitarian Day, the Federal Government calling on Nigerians to encourage hundreds of volunteers and first aid officials who render invaluable service to persons devastated by conflicts.
The celebration at the weekend was the very first time that the Federal Government is celebrating the day since it was declared.
Permanent Secretary, Special Duty office, Dr. Henry Akpan advised Nigerians to get involved in humanitarian services to save lives.
Represented by a Director in his office, Mr. Oyemade Abiodun, Akpan noted that rendering humanitarian services at critical times was capable of promoting harmony and peaceful co-existence.
