2015: Enugu Diaspora group endorses Jonathan, Chime

The Enugu Diaspora Organization (EDO) has declared its full support for “all the intentions and templates of President Goodluck Jonathan and Governor Sullivan Chime of Enugu State as regards election matters in 2015.”

The group, in a statement signed by its President, Christian Ngozi Okolo, and Secretary General, Chris Amalu, stated that the two leaders had proven their mettle in conquering the developmental challenges of the country in their respective spheres of operation and, therefore, deserve new opportunities to continue their service to the people.

It noted that Chime has transformed Enugu State from a “backward, poor and sleepy” enclave, to a “brand new state “with modern infrastructure and a booming economy.

According to the statement, “the Enugu Diaspora Organization, hereby, endorses President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan for a second term in office and we want to make it clear that Enugu Diaspora Organization is also in full support of Governor Sullivan Chime’s template as regards election matters come 2015 in Enugu State.”

The group also observed that the governor has continued to maintain an unprecedented regard for Enugu Diasporans, many of whom he had engaged to play prominent roles in the implementation of his transformation agenda for the state.

“Governor Chime’s love for Enugu Diasporans is unprecedented, and Diasporans have complemented this by playing prominent roles in the governor’s transformation of Enugu State especially in the areas of roads and rural infrastructure, peace and security, social, economic and human development, youth and women empowerment among others”, it stated.
