National Conference: Tinubu says Jonathan’s offer is suspicious, deceptive

Former Lagos State Governor and leader of All Progressive Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu has faulted President Goodluck Jonathan for setting up machinery for a national conference, saying that President Jonathan’s offer was suspicious and deceptive.

Tinubu returned to Nigeria after months of foreign medical treatment in United States and Great Britain. He was giving a rousing welcome by officials of his party and his associates. He arrived in a Chattered flight.

He said that the proposal to hold a national conference was an attempt to hoodwink Nigerians. He wondered why President Jonathan decided to convene a conference suddenly.

He noted that he would confer with his party on his suspicions about the conference proposed by Jonathan, stressing there was lack of integrity and honesty in the process.

On those calling for the postponement of the 2015 elections for the hosting of the national conference, Tinubu said it was fraudulent to attempt to shift the date of the election.
