Pipeline vandalism: Soldiers burn trucks used in stealing fuel

Soldiers of the Nigerian Army at the weekend set ablaze two petrol tankers used by criminals to steal fuel from a pipeline on the Benin-Abraka road.

It was learnt that the pipeline vandals upon sighting the soldiers fled the crime scene, abandoning their trucks.

The trucks were loading the fuel at the time the soldiers caught them in the act. It was gathered that the soldiers received information from residents of the area.

The Commander of the Operation Thunder Storm team, Col. Idris Lawan confirmed the burning of the trucks to journalists.

He assured Nigerians that pipeline vandalism will be stamped out in the area.
