The Department of State Services, DSS, has directed embattled deputy national secretary of APC, Nasir El-Rufai to submit himself for interrogation on Monday or face a massive manhunt by operatives of the agency.
El-Rufai after making his comments about violence in the forthcoming Presidential elections ran from his homes in Abuja to evade arrest. DSS operatives said that that they have obtained a warrant of arrest to pick El-Rufai over his inciting comments that promised deaths and violence.
The former Minister of FCT is to be investigated because similar comments by other opposition politicians in 2011 led to massive violence and deaths after Muhammadu Buhari lost to President Jonathan. Jonathan had to approve the payment of several billions for victims of the deaths occasioned by such comments. Several corps members were among the dead.
DSS sources said that operatives have been detailed to keep watch near El-Rufai’s hide-out as he was traced to the area near Minister’s Hill in Abuja on Friday
It was however learnt that APC lawyers are working round the clock to ensure that if El-Rufai presents himself on Monday, he will not end up in detention.
