Former Delta State governor, Chief James Ibori has described the death of Dimgba Igwe, as a terrible blow to both Nigerian journalism and the country.
He said Igwe was a consummate journalist, who was wedded to the search for truth and all that was good.
In a statement by his Media Assistant, Tony Eluemunor, Ibori said what distinguished Dimgba Igwe was not his prodigious talent or unfailing energy, but that he elected to walk in the way of temperance, fairness and patriotism.
He said “Dimgba did not misuse his podium to ingratiate anyone or to play God but walked the wholesome middle road, handling out his respected opinions and essays in generous doses, with a healthy respect for truth and goodness.”
Chief Ibori sent his condolences to the management and staff of the SUN newspapers and prayed God Almighty to grant Igwe’s widow and children the grace to bear this irreplaceable loss.
