Anambra Gubernatorial Election: Supreme Court dismisses Ukachukwu’s appeal

A five man panel of the Supreme Court led by a justice Walter Onnoghen has dismissed the application for stay of proceedings filed by the candidate of the PDP in the Anambra Governorship election, Nicholas Ukachukwu.

Ruling on the application, Justice Onnoghen says the application for stay of proceedings filed by Mr Ukachuku is incompetent as it is aimed at arresting the judgment of the Appeal Court in a suit filed by Tony Nwoye.

The reasons for the judgment will be made public on December 20.

By this Supreme Court judgment, the Appeal Court in Port Harcourt is now free to deliver its judgment on Nwoye’s appeal.

The judgment will determine who will be the PDP candidate during the election in Anambra State.
