STEPHEN KESHI STADIUM BUILT TO STANDARD, COLLAPSE OF WATER TANK SUSPICIOUS – GOV OKOWA’S EXECUTIVE AIDE.

…SAYS SABOTEURS SHALL FACE THE LONG ARM OF THE LAW, INVESTIGATION IN PROGRESS.
Executive Assistant to the Governor of Delta State on Communications, Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe has said that the state government in collaboration with law enforcement agents shall in no time fish out human elements whose actions and inactiins promoted the sudden collapse of one of the water tanks at the Stephen Keshi International  Stadium, Asaba.
The Governor’s Executive Aide in a statement made available to newsmen in Asaba asserted that initial findings partially revealed  that the collapse of the tank is traceable to the handiwork of enemies of progress and political detractors who out of jealousy engaged the services of criminals to sabotage the ongoing Athletics championship at the stadium, adding that the collapse did not affect the huge success so far achieved as Nigeria has so far clinched three gold medals and still counting.
Oghenesivbe, a member of the Media and Publicity Sub-committee of the Local Organising Committee of CAA 21st African Athletics Senior Championship aka Asaba 2018,  commended the proactive steps taken by law enforcement agents working with members of the panel of inquiry set up by Delta State Government to unravel the immediate and remote cause of the sudden collapse of the Water tank; and assured Deltans and the international community of government commitment to ensure that spectators savour the superlative performances being exhibited Athletes at the championship.
“Gov Okowa, is pained by the ugly incident which may have been influenced by those not happy with the enviable performances of Okowa administration in sports development in the state, to the extent that Asaba and Delta is today the toast of the African continent.
“No stone shall be unturned to unravel the circumstances surrounding the collapse of the water tank which is currently under investigation. A better tank is now in place to supply water thereby impacting positively on the ease of water supply at the stadium beyond the competition period.
“We are very proud of the CAA 21st African Athletics Senior Championship holding in Asaba,  and no amount of sabotage by the opposition and political detractors can affect the superlative applause and commendation received daily from across the country and at the global stage.
“Gov Okowa is daily at the championship with leaders of various sports associations, cheering  winners and losers, connecting with global leaders, a success story that have angered political detractors but by the Grace of God,  the Smart Agenda has become a huge success that cannot be faulted,” Oghenesivbe added.
