THE chairman of Labour Party (LP) in Ogun State, Comrade Niyi Osoba said at the weekend that the visit of the Ekiti State governor-elect, Mr Ayo Fayose, to Chief Gbenga Daniel was to map out modalities to flush out the Ibikunle Amosun-led administration in Ogun State in the next political dispensation.
Comrade Osoba, in statement made available to newsmen said that the meeting was in line with the mandate that the Labour Party gave its leader, in the person of Otunba Daniel, to discuss with all, across party lines, towards the 2015 elections.
“Ogun State Labour Party wishes to reiterate its mutual belief in the Amosun Must Go (AMG) project and therefore wishes to open its door for discussion with any party that shares its philosophy and the ideology of making life better for the good people of the State particularly the workers and the opppressed masses’’, the statement added.
According to Osoba, it is against this framework that we view the recent visit of the governor-elect of Ekiti State, Mr Ayodele Fayose to our leader asking both the Labour Party and the PDP to join forces to effect a change in Ogun State.
The Labour Party chairman noted that Otunba Daniel who is the LP builder was also the main builder of the PDP in the state, with the co-operation of other leaders.
While stating that OGD was instrumental to the election winning status that the PDP attained in 2003 and 2007, Comrade Osoba noted that about 90 per cent of the current PDP and LP machineries in the state were the products of OGD’s efforts.
‘’Regrettably, the people of Ogun State got hoodwinked by the lies and manipulations of the the ACN and voted the current APC administration into office. Having realised their mistake, the people have kept appealing to all stakeholders of our old structure to come together and flush out the current government in Ogun State’’, Osoba added.
