Chairman Caretaker Committee of Opobo/ Nkoro Local Government, Sir. Boma Brown has dismissed claims by defeated All Progressives Congress(APC) guber candidate in 2015 elections, Dr. Dakuku Peterside during a radio programme on Saturday that there is no project sited by Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike in the area.
Describing the claims of Peterside as a deliberate ploy to turn facts on its head, Brown called on the Director General of National Maritime Administration and Safety Agency(NIMASA) for a project tour in the area.
According to Brown”, I want to invite Dakuku on a project tour. So his deliberate blindness to the development on going in Opobo/ Nkoro can be cured.”
Brown while listing some of the projects by Wike said apart from the Andoni/Opobo/Nkoro Unity Road, there are dozens of projects such as the rehabilitated Opobo General Hospital, RSG/ EU Water Scheme, rehabilitated Opobo and Nkoro Secondary Schools, Nkoro and Kalaibiama, Queens Town Markets, New Walk Way at Opobo New Layout, and others.
On the 5 acres land reclamation project Peterside claimed he did at Opobo, Brown challenged the NIMASA boss that there is enough evidence to show it was a Federal Government project.
He further challenged the former State Commissioner for Works to account for the #2billion Queens Town shore protection project abandoned under his watch.
Calling on Peterside to stop the diatribe on the state government, Brown advised him to support in the development of Rivers State rather than de-marketing it.
” Peterside penchant for deliberate blindness to facts and refusing to accept realities is nauseating. He needs to have a rethink and overhaul his tactics, which reeks of bitterness” Brown emphasized.
