I read a short piece, this morning, by Mr. Ross Alabo-George on the supremacy and superintendency of The Divine over our own actions, as encapsulated in the popular cliche: Man Proposes, God Disposes, and cannot agree more on its timeless efficacy.
This is not to say we are incapable of individual actions. Such an allusion would be readily discountenanced by the existing surplus of available evidence to the contrary.
Rather, it is to affirm the overriding authority of The Divine over our very will and actions especially at critical times in our lives. Evidence abounds of this Divine interventions from the beginning of time to this very day. This, certainly, necessitates the need, therefore, to as much as possible, take measures to line up our plans and actions in accordance with the principles that sustain Divine Authority in order to avoid being overridden by it at those critical moments. God always has the final say and His plans are the ultimate deal under which every other okwe is subsumed.
It is written: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
In the affairs of men, there’s always an overriding authority. We answer to an essence beyond us.
May that overriding authority continue to navigate us to our predestined future in Jesus name. Amen.
