THE NIGERIA OF MY DREAMS

By Ibrahim Adam
I am a Nigerian, I love my motherland. I wish to make it an ideal country in the world. I dream of making Nigeria a richer, happier and healthier place to live. I want to see my country progress in all fields of life. Today people have grown selfish. There is injustice everywhere, we always think of our own interests. But we do not think of the welfare of the Nation. I like every Nigerian to have National character. In the Nigeria of my dream, every man will have a high moral sense and deep love for the Nation.
Our Country is backward in the fields of science and industry. I want Nigeria to be a leading country in new technology. Our industries should grow fast. We should produce everything of our need. In this Nigeria of my dream Education will get it due importance. Every citizen of Nigeria will get a job of his choice. Students will be devoted to their studies.
Nigeria must be a very strong country. We have to protect our hard-earned freedom. The defences of the country will be very powerful. Nigeria is peace-loving Nation. But it will be ready for war if war is created for us. The Nigeria of my dream will follow the policy of truth and non-violence. A Nigeria where there is no Insurgency and free from Biafara agitation. A Nigeria that will be free from kidnappers and bandits that are killing our love ones. We can buy peace only when we are very strong. Our country will have friendly relations with its neighbours. The Nigeria of my dream will be a mighty country.
Today we find a big gap between the rich and the poor. There is corruption in all walks of life. The Nigeria of my dream will have social justice. There will be no rich and poor. Everybody will be equal. There will be no shortage of anything. There will be discipline, peace and happiness. The feelings of ethnicity and regionalism will go forever. There will be an atmosphere of equality, brotherhood and freedom all over the country. A Nigeria with visionary and selfless leaders, a Nigeria with leaders not looters.
In Nigeria of my dream, Looters will assume they don’t have heads. A Nigeria where people of integrity will be those at the helm of authority, I see a free-corrupt Nation, An educationally sound country, An agricultural exporting nation, A medically healthy citizens, an economically balanced nation, a hunger eradicated nation and a more favourable country for foreigners to invest.
May Almighty Allah Fulfill My Dream!
