In line with his commitment to make youth development the centre stage of his second tenure, the Governor of Rivers State, Barr. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has awarded scholarship to Victoria Amasi-Gomba to pursue an MBA in the United Kingdom.
According to Governor Wike, the scholarship is a mark of appreciation for the honour the recipients brought to Rivers State by winning the coveted NYSC Presidential Award.
The Governor represented by the Secretary to Rivers State Government, Dr Tammy Danagogo in presenting the award on Monday 9th September, urged the recipient to use the scholarship as a means of improving herself and bringing more honour to the good people of Rivers State.
The recipient Victoria Amasi-Gomba, thanked the Governor for the award, promising not to let down the State.
She encouraged other Rivers youths to stay determined, work hard and stay steadfast because violence is not the answer to anything you want.
“While doing my NYSC in Kwara Sate, I executed different projects including those for the physically challenged, children and others that stood me out to attain the Presidential Award, and today its a scholarship from my Governor, I am very grateful.
It would be recalled that, Governor Wike promised scholarship to five members of the Rivers State NYSC Presidential Award members who paid him a curtesy call recently in Government House.
