The Director General of the Wike Solidarity Movement (WSM), Prince Sudor Nwiyor has told Rivers people to reject Amaechi and his allies as the general elections draw closer. Speaking during the inauguration of the Degema chapter of WSM on Saturday, Mr. Nwiyor questioned the relevance of Amaechi’s closeness to the President on the development of Rivers State.
“The leader of the “indirect primary” faction of the APC (in Rivers State) boasted that he is the closest person (from the region) to the President of this country and I ask, how has he used his relationship with the President to attract development to Rivers State?” he questioned.
Recall that Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi had at the penultimate weekend boasted in an APC rally in the state that his supporters should disregard the visit of Abe and kinsmen to the President; that he (Amaechi) is the closest person from that South-South region to the President.
The Polytechnic lecturer also urged the people of Degema to mobilize support for His Excellency (Governor Wike). In his assertion: “we don’t have any option than to do that because the only way we can say thank you to the Executive Governor is to support him to come back for a second term so that he can continue with the good works that he is doing in this state.”
