State wide celebrations greet Wike’s election

Thousands of Rivers people from different local government areas of the state on Wednesday trooped out to streets to celebrate the victory of Governor-elect , Barrister Nyesom Ezenwo Wike.

 

The major celebrations took place at Port Harcourt,  Obio/Akpor,  Okirika,  Ogo/ Bolo, Oyigbo and Ikwerre Local Government Areas where street carnivals were held.

 

The celebrants marched through the major streets of the listed towns singing Wike campaign songs and commending the Rivers people for standing by PDP.

 

Elected House of Representatives member for Ikwerre/ Emohua Federal Constituency,  Mr Boniface Emerengwa declared that the victory of Barrister Wike represents a liberation for Rivers State.

 

Emerengwa who spoke at the victory celebration in Elele,  Ikwerre Local Government Area,  said that Wike will address all the development challenges facing the state due to the failure of outgoing governor Rotimi Amaechi.  Amaechi hails from Ikwerre LGA.

 

 

Rivers State PDP Publicity Secretary,  Nwanosike Samuel said the massive turnout of Rivers people during the statewide celebration is a statement that Wike is the choice of the people. .

 

At Ogo/Bolo LGA, re-elected member of the Rivers State House of Assembly,  Mr Evans Bipi declared that with the election of Wike,  the state will witness comprehensive development.

 

Former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives,  Austin Opara commended the people of Port Harcourt City for overwhelmingly voting Barrister Nyesom Ezenwo Wike to take the state to higher heights.

 

At Obio/Akpor LGA,  Chairman of the PDP,  Chukwuemeka Aaron commended the people of Rivers State for the massive support they gave to Barrister Wike,  saying that Wike will not disappoint the people.
