Benue State Emergency Management Agency,today dispatched hundreds of bags of assorted grains comprising millet,maize,garri to the Internally displaced persons at Naka,Gwer West local government Area of Benue state.
Other non food relief materials dispatched included,mosquito nets,mats,blankets and others.
It will be recalled that,SEMA had earlier in the year supplied assorted food items,and other relief materials which were distributed under the supervision of the National Emergency Management Agency officials,the traditional rulers and other major stakeholders of Gwer West local government.
Speaking to journalists before the departure of the relief materials to Naka,the headquarters of Gwer West local government, the Executive Secretary of the Agency,Hon. Emmanuel Shior said that it was the constitutional responsibility and mandate of the Agency to always ensure that emergency issues arising from displacement,and other unforeseen humanitarian crisis were attended to in good time.
Hon.Shior commended governor Samuel Ortom for always standing by the Agency,a development he assured has tremendously improved particularly the lives of the Internally displaced persons in camps across the state .
Bro Felix Agbior,cashier of the Agency led the delegation for the supply of the assorted relief materials.
