Rivers: Ultra Modern Kelsey Harrison Hospital To Commence Operation On Monday 7

In consonance with the Rivers State Governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi’s promise to improve the health status of Rivers People, the Ultra Modern Kelsey Harrison Hospital will commence operation today Monday 7th January, 2013.

This is accordance with statement from the Office of the Permanent Secretary in the Rivers State Ministry of Health Dr. Godwin Mpi.

Dr Mpi said the Hospital which is located at No 11 Emenike Street Mile 1 Diobu in the State Capital will render outpatient medical care, as well as diagnostic services in the interim.

According to Dr. Mpi the Hospital which will be managed by International Trauma and Critical Care Limited (ITCC) an International Hospital Management Organization will be open daily from 8 am to 8pm for the first two months.

He said it is envisaged that within three months from date of commencement of operations full scale services including in patient care, surgery, emergency care, maternity services and a wide range of diagnostic services will commence at the hospital.

He emphasised that patients who are registered in the Rivers State Government Free Medical Care Programme can access free treatment at the Kelsey Harrison Hospital only on referral from Rivers State Government Health Facilities.
