Nigeria deserves a President that has insight

The Sad Story of the Puppeteer and the Puppet
It is so sad that President Buhari has allowed himself to be controlled like a puppet being pulled by Nnamdi Kanu.
Kanu seems to know so well how Buhari would react to every step he takes. So Kanu taunts Buhari like a woman taunts her husband by calling him “Useless man” and telling him to do his worst and see hell. So the foolish husband loses his cool and beats the wife blue black. The wife shouts that he has killed her, takes pictures and videos of her swollen face and battered body and sends them out. The man is called a beast by the public and maybe gets arrested by the police.
When it seems that attention on him is reducing, Kanu says or does one thing to work Buhari up. He gathered some men together and announced that he had formed the Biafran Secret Service: a group that does not have even pepper spray. He boasted that nobody would dare to arrest him. He said that the person that came back from London was not Buhari but someone else.
Given how the mind of Buhari works, Kanu knows that Buhari must react. So Kanu pulls the strings and the puppet reacts the way he wants. That is sad.
Kanu knows that the moment Buhari reacts, there will be videos and pictures and stories for the world. And that gives his cause global publicity and wins him sympathy. Buhari will be seen as the aggressor and oppressor while he is seen as the non-violent victim.
When Buhari returned from his medical trip and gave a speech, I wrote that the speech was written principally for Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB. Buhari was telling them that he was back and would deal with them for crossing the “red line”. And true to his word, he swung into action.
Tension has risen in Nigeria over Buhari’s reaction, and what is on the lips of everyone is Kanu, Biafra and IPOB. Rather than be cowed, IPOB and non-IPOB members have become more strengthened. Even moderates are wondering why they should still belong to this Nigeria with such viciousness from the military and the leaders.
Those who have read Mario Puzzo’s The Godfather would see that Buhari reminds one of the impulsive first son of Don Corleone called Santino (Sunny), who would always react as predicted, and was, therefore, considered unfit to to run the Corleone empire.
IPOB must resist the urge to get violent because of the continued killing of their members and the inhuman treatment meted out to them, neither should they resort to attacking Northerners in revenge. Violence will dent their moral standing and also give Buhari a golden opportunity to replicate an Odi or Zaki Biam in Igboland. They must deny him that pleasure. Watching how angrily Buhari reacted during the Al Jazeera interview when the killing of IPOB members was raised, I tend to believe what Fani-Kayode said he told him that “they” cannot forgive the Igbos for the 1966 coup.
Nigeria deserves a president that is deep and tactful, a president that is proactive and not reactive, a president that will read in between the lines and see the result from the beginning, a president that will have practical ways of solving problems and uniting the nation. The Sad Story of the Puppeteer and the Puppet

    A CLARION CALL FOR RESTRAINT!

Fellow compatriots, with deep regret and heavy heart, following the sad news of the destruction of human lives and property in Abia and Rivers state, by IPOB terrorists, targeted at perceived Hausa/Fulani Northerners, I call on our people in the North to show high level of maturity, intelligence and patriotism, and avoid reprisal attacks in the North.

I present to you my arguments as follows:

A dangerous semi illiterate loser from London, found his way back to Nigeria and meticulously conned his gullible people into accepting him as their so called freedom hero and Messiah. Nnamdi Kanu and the vast majority of his senseless pedestrian followers were not born when we fought the unfortunate Biafran war. Millions lost their lives. These ill informed people do not know the misery, death and destruction that war brings. It is therefore too easy for them to beat the drums of war.

Furthermore, the same wicked and senseless IPOB terrorists are oblivious of the fact that if reprisal attacks were to happen in the North, our Igbo brothers and sisters living in the North will sustain far worse losses than anybody else. This is because quite often, they own big assets and own more successful businesses than their host communities. But then, the sanctity of Igbo lives in the North and security of their properties have never been Nnamdi Kanu’s concerns! The intoxicated young man is busy basking in the delusion that he will one day be the head of state of the Biafra nation.

While Kanu and his fellow-travellers are recklessly playing Russian Roulette with the destiny of our great nation, we must not allow ourselves to be used as pawns to achieve their deadly dream of carving Biafra out of Nigeria. We must therefore avoid reprisals, and remain calm and law abiding at all times.

President Muhammad Buhari is an Army General and two times head of state. He gallantly fought the Biafran war. He comprehensively wiped out Maitatsine. He spectacularly repelled the Chad aggression. Were it not for his three months absence due to illness, Boko Haram would have been history by now. With this impeccable record of fighting wars and defeating insurgency, let us give our Commander in Chief the benefit of the doubt. Let us believe that he will deal decisively with the IPOB terrorists, just the same way he has been dealing with Boko Haram.

Notwithstanding our call to avoid reprisals in the North while remaining calm and law abiding in the face of naked aggression by IPOB, the unity and territorial integrity of the Nigerian state MUST never be negotiated, even if it means going into full scale war with IPOB!

May God save Nigeria and Nigerians. Ameen.

Germany has concluded plans to train 10,000 Nigerian youths in Ogun and Plateau between September and June 2018 to enable them acquire vocational skills.

Mr Horst Bauemfeind, an official of GIZ, the German national agency for international cooperation, stated this in Abeokuta on Thursday at the inauguration of the committee for the monitoring of the initiative in Ogun.

Bauemfeind said that the project would provide demand-oriented vocational training for young persons in the agriculture and construction sectors considered to be two areas with high growth and employment potentials.

He further said that the gesture was part of an ongoing development cooperation between Nigeria and Germany based on bilateral agreement.

The German official, who said that 5,000 youths would be trained in Ogun, explained that his team had already embarked on an assessment tour of vocational centres and technical colleges in the state to identify possible gaps and areas of needs.

He added that the team had also organised workshops on vocational skills development for the agriculture and construction industries to aggregate the demands of the stakeholders and develop a programme strategy.

“The project aims to improve the vocational skills and knowledge of young Nigerians to increase their employment prospects .

“The project will work in three activity areas namely: increase training at the level of micro and small enterprises as well as improve the capacity of training providers and public private dialogue on vocational education and training in Ogun,’’ he said.

Bauemfeind said that the committee made up of critical stakeholders in agriculture and construction sectors in the state would ensure the alignment of the project with partner strategies for full implementation.

The Chairman of the committee, Rev. Peter Akinola, said he was concerned about the millions of Nigerian youths who had remained unemployable.

Akinola, a former Primate of the Anglican Church of Nigeria, however, expressed optimism that the training would reverse the trend.

He called on government to refocus and redirect policies in order to priotise vocational education and training among the youths.

Mrs Hafsat Abiola – Castelo, who is a co-chairperson of the committee, said the body was committed to the sustainability of the project.

Abiola – Castelo, who is the Special Assistant to Gov. Ibikunle Amosun on Trade and Investment, also pledged government’s support for the programme.

She said the committee planned to partner the organised private sector to defray the cost of the training per participant to make it affordable for more young persons after the exit of the Germans.

“The training costs N100,000 per participant in the construction aspect which has been fully paid by the German government.

“The committee intends to engage some partners to defray the cost and reduce it to about N25, 000 so that those who have been trained by the Germans can retrain others at affordable cost at the end of their own programme,” she said.

She called on the youths, particularly females, to take advantage of the programme by Germany to improve their living standard.

“Our young women should not abandon the training because they are relevant in the value chain of the construction sector, particularly in the area of interior decoration as well as in cassava processing aspect of agriculture,” she said

buhari is in a hurry to go and kill Igbos, he’s converting boko haram boys as northern soldiers to commit ethnic cleansing in Igboland. if he use the money for armored cars to build roads in Igboland, our youths will see reason to believe that they are Nigerians. he never arrest herdsmen who kill our pregnant women and children, he never arrest arewa youths that gave Igbos quick notice, he never arrest any of the gang that slaughter and kill villagers in southern kaduna, his mission has always been to commit pogroms against Igbos, but one day monkey go go market eno go return.

    • Kola Adedeji

Percheski Uche!!! What are your Governors doing with the allocations allotted to them? Abia State is worst in term of development in Nigeria. Still Cownu hasn’t got the liver to challenge his Governor even the past administrations that their immunity had expired. Maybe immunity covers the present one, he can’t ask him questions.

Rise Above Pettiness, Presidential Aide Advises Ezekwesili

The presidency has advised the Co-convener of the #BringBackOurGirls Group, Mrs. Oby Ezekwesili, to demonstrate a great sense of responsibility in the face of national security challenges posed by the IPOB incendiary propaganda designed to cause civil unrest in the country.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu, said “a prominent influencer like Dr. Oby has a moral and patriotic duty not to give ammunition to any violent group that seems determined to pursue its separatist agitation through reckless and destructive methods.”

He explained that, “while it is convenient for the civil society activist to condemn the military and the government of President Buhari, Mrs Ekekwesili didn’t find it appropriate, even once, to criticise the dangerous and violent propaganda being propagated by the IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu. Oby, as they call her, tweets on everything. Why was she silent on this one?”

According to him, the attacks on soldiers and policemen by IPOB supporters “was most irresponsible, indefensible and reckless” and that nobody in her position “should elevate mobs to the status of rock stars for the sake of playing to the gallery.”

The presidential media aide said while the military are taking all precautions to observe the rules of engagement, “there is a deliberate sinister agenda by IPOB to provoke the soldiers into killing innocent people in retaliation so that Nnamdi Kanu would use the pictures of the victims for international propaganda by the accusing the government of ethnic cleansing against the Igbos with the sole purpose of gaining sympathy.”

“A president who has put put the nation’s cash cows, the Central Bank and the Ministry of Petroleum in the hands of the Igbo; who has given four out of five states in the subregion senior cabinet posts in his administration, including Foreign Affairs; and Industry, Trade and Investment, and is constructing the Second Niger bridge after years of deceit and false starts cannot be called a hater of the Igbo.”

The statement warned that the politicization of the ongoing military exercise in the subregion, itself in line with similar exercises in the five other geopolitical regions is inimical to the military readiness of the armed forces and the much-desired improved civilian-military relations in the country.

Malam Garba Shehu also wondered why Mrs. Ezekwesili “retreated to the background or lost her voice while IPOB supporters were violently molesting, harassing, attacking and jeopardizing the lives of indigenes and non-indigenes.”

He challenged Mrs. Ezekwesili to explain to Nigerians where the constitution of Nigeria, and international human rights law support the killing and molestation of innocent people in the name of advocacy for self determination.

According to him, “her hypocritical and timid silence while Kanu’s IPOB supporters were engaged in lawlessness and recklessness in violation of his bail conditions is a burden on her credibility as a national crusader who should be courageous to condemn criminality. This art of using a raincoat while taking a bath is nothing short of self deceit.”

He reminded her that “if the Buhari administration could take tough action against the extremist religious groups in the northern parts of the country to preserve national security, it is ridiculous to accuse the President of sending soldiers to the Southeast because he hates the Igbos. The Federal Government under President Muhammadu Buhari respects all citizens and will ensure that they are safe and secure wherever they reside.”

Shehu advised her to rise above pettiness and sentiments, and to resist the temptation to play to the gallery, when the country’s national security is under threat, adding that “seeking to make political capital out of a chaotic situation is highly unbecoming of her and of the reputation she has worked hard to build over the years.”

Scannews junk. Buhari is not new in the leadership of this country. Your problem is that Buhari doesn’t seem to be corrupt like your hero Jonathan (Phd. Stealing). That’s why you are giving the old man endless troubles. YOU will never succeed.
