According to statement signed and issued by the deputy force public relations officer, CSP Frank Mba on Wednesday, Hon Chidi Lloyd on the 23rd July, 2013, reported at Force CID, Force Headquarters, Abuja, in response to a summon earlier issued by the police high command.
It said the House member who arrived Force Headquarters at about 4.00pm, in company of his lawyers is currently helping Police investigators in efforts at unravelling the circumstances surrounding the crisis that occurred in the hallowed chambers of the House of Assembly.
The statement noted that the lawmaker had commendably, so far, shown a high level of cooperation with police detectives, adding that his interrogation was still ongoing.
It will be recalled that the Force had on 17th July, 2013, summoned Honourable Lloyd and two others to report to the Force CID to explain their roles in the current crisis in the Rivers State House of Assembly, especially, as shown in some video footages by the media.
While commending the people of Rivers State for the prevailing peace in the state, the IGP assured Nigerians that the Force woul do everything within its power to ensure that justice was not only done, but manifestly seen to be done.
