Embattled and ailing President Muhammadu Buhari has reportedly directed the EFCC and the Presidential Committee on the Rivers Recovered $43million dollars found in a luxury apartment in Ikoyi to shield his election sponsor, Rotimi Amaechi.
Rotimi Amaechi has been fingered in the stashing of Rivers funds in Lagos.
It was from the same luxury apartment that Amaechi funded Buhari’s primary election in Lagos, expending money above what Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar gave to delegates.
Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed and officials of his Ministry have engaged Sahara Reporters, Premium Times, Punch and The Nation to sell concocted reports that will divert attention of Nigerians.
Already, all these APC media are publishing reports mentioning Jonathan, while online e-rats have been paid to post anti-Jonathan comments.
The online aspect is being funded by the Buhari Media Office in Abuja. Sources claim that over N200million have been invested in the last 3 days in mass reach out to APC online workers.
It was learnt that Amaechi has threatened to release sponsorship documents, should he be probed by Buhari.
Presidency officials are afraid Amaechi will carry out his threat, should Buhari sanction him over the discovery of the funds in his apartment in Lagos.
Like Dasuki, Amaechi used funds of the Rivers State Government to bankroll the APC 2015 campaign. He also availed President Muhammadu Buhari the official plane of Rivers State to tour the 36 states of the Federation.
The Presidency ran into troubled water after Governor Wike revealed that the money belongs to Amaechi and it was proceed from the sale of gas turbines valued at $309million.
That revelation threw the Presidency into panic, leading to it coopting the National Intelligence Agency to claim the money. Public outcry has forced Buhari to sacrifice the Director General of the NIA.
It was learnt that more persons will be sacrificed because if Amaechi goes down, he will drag the failed anti-corruption war with him.
