The crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Benue State has deepened with the cancellation of the ward congresses by the National Secretariat of the party.
The deputy governor, Chief Steven Lawani and Minister of Interior, Comrade Abba Moro are at daggers drawn over the control of the party in the Benue South Senatorial District.
Benue State PDP chairman, Mr Emmanuel Agbo, a supporter of the deputy governor has worked tirelessly to enthrone ward executives loyal to the deputy governor to help the deputy governor achieve his goal of contesting the Benue South Senatorial seat iun 2015.
The Minister of Interior petitioned the National Secretariat on the strength that he also desires to contest the same election, hence his interest in controlling the ward executives.
The Benue State Chairman of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP Mr. Emmanuel Agbo has criticized the National Working Committee of the party for cancelling ward congresses in the State.
