Chief of Staff to the Rivers State Governor, Engr Chukwuemeka Woke has called on the newly inaugurated Post-graduate Students Association of the Rivers State University to work with the management of the institution to attract more projects.
Speaking during the inauguration ceremony at the University on Monday, Engr Chukwuemeka Woke said that post-graduate students operate on a higher pedestal, hence they must assist their school.
He said under the supervision of Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, the Rivers State University has introduced new programmes and constructed new facilities to enhance teaching and learning.
He said: “You should not be involved in partisan politics. Explore all opportunities to attract development to the school.
“Work to attract resources from the NDDC because it has the mandate to develop institutions in the Niger Delta.
“With proper stakeholder engagement, you can attract a lot to this school. Use your wealth of experience to see how you can promote the institution “.
He commended the management of the Rivers State University for her fiscal discipline which has enhanced projects delivery in the state.
In his remarks, Vice Chancellor of the Rivers State University, Prof Blessing Didia urged the new post-graduate students body to work with the management for the attainment of developmental objectives.
The Dean of Student Affairs of the University, Prof Isaac Zeb-Obipi said that the leadership of the association emerged through a credible process.
