Reconstruction of 200 Basic Education Schools
One of the outstanding contributions of the Wike administration to the education sector is the reconstruction of over 200 Basic Education Schools across the 23 Local Government Areas of the state.
The basic schools were in deplorable condition, making teaching and learning difficult. The reconstruction of these schools have re-positioned basic education in the state.
The Wike administration inherited totally decayed infrastructure from the immediate past failed Amaechi administration.
When his administration took over, the former administration did not access UBEC, pointing out that the State Government accessed the funds for the re-positioning of basic schools in the state.
The reconstructed basic schools have the following facilities: new furniture, sports equipment/facilities, Information/communication equipment, standby generator, boreholes, toilets , head-teacher office and table-top fridges.

During the 28th Convocation ceremony of the Rivers State University, Governor Wike initiated the College of Medical Sciences of the institution and flagged off the construction of the College Building. This building has reached advanced stage of completion.
The RSU College of Medical Sciences has admitted her first set of students while the construction work at the College of Medical Sciences building has reached an advanced stage.
