Thousands of Youths of Omuma Local Government Area of Rivers State on Friday endorsed Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike for a second term.
The Omuma Youths who gathered under the auspices of One Million Youths for New Rivers State were led by Rt Hon Kelechi Nwogu, Member Representing Omuma State Constituency at the Rivers State House of Assembly.
Speaking at the rally, Rt Hon Kelechi Nwogu said Governor Wike will be supported by Omuma people because he has executed key projects in the area.
He said: ” Governor Wike is the first governor to execute key projects in Omuma Local Government Area. The 17 kilometre road project under the construction in the area is the best thing to happen for a long time”.
Nwogu said that Omuma Local Government Area will be the first council to return her results for the re-election of Governor Wike in 2019.
In his address, Coordinator of One Million Youths for New Rivers State, Hon Ehie Edison said that Rivers youths will massively vote Governor Wike in 2019. He said that the youths will take steps to defend their votes.
Edison declared that no level of intimidation, violence and use of thugs and security agencies will stop the people of Rivers State from re-electing Governor Wike.
“Their resort to violence will not stop us from voting Governor Wike and defending our votes. We will not fight on election day, but we shall escort election materials to polling units.
“Our people shall vote for Governor Wike and PDP. Our votes will count. We shall escort the votes to the Collation Centre and our votes will count”, he said.
He emphasised that Governor Wike has added value to youths by ensuring that youths are State Lawmakers, commissioners , council chairmen and gubernatorial liaison officers.
National Secretary of One Million Youths for New Rivers State, Hon Major Jack thanked Omuma Youths for turning out in their numbers to work for the re-election of Governor Wike.
He urged the youths to sustain their support for the Rivers State Governor because of his outstanding projects delivery in the state.
As usual, the youths marched through the street of the town, sharing flyers to promote the candidacy of Governor Wike.
