No Beheaded Students’ Corpses found in Ogun, Says Ogun Police Boss

On Monday, Ogun State Commissioner for Police, CP Ikemefuna Okoye disclosed that the widely spread rumour of the beheaded female corpses said to have been found along a road was a mere rumour.

In a statement signed by Okoye and made available to journalists yesterday in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital, Ogun State Police Command got the information of three (3) beheaded female corpses allegedly dumped along Ijebu-Ode/Ibadan road on Sunday 24/03/2013 being widely circulated on a social network.

According to the message b circulated on the social network “3 beheaded corpses suspected to be females were thrown from a Range-Rover Sport Utility Vehicle @ Ijebu-Ode–Ibaan road just now.

One is fair in complexion with Unilag School I.D card (Yetunde Ajao) inside her hand-bag,the second is an OOUITE student (Oyindamola Esan), also fair in complexion and kinda tall and the last one is short, plumpy and dark with no identity…

Please if you know any of these girls kindly notify their friends or family member 2come right away and remove their corpse..On-coming vehicles can run over them @ anytime because they were dumped by the road side.”

The Commissioner, however, said the message being circulated was a mere rumour, calculated to create fears in the minds of Nigerians and unnecessary civil disturbance.

He noted that the rumour was the handiwork of mischief makers and should be disregarded by the general public, assuring the public of the Command’s commitment in providing adequate security for all and sundry in the state.
