The high level of insecurity in the North East region is hindering the rehabilitation of Federal roads in the region, the Federal Road Maintenance Agency, FERMA has declared.
FERMA’s position was made public by its Zone 11 coordinator, Engr. Toluwatope David.
He said despite the security challenges, staff of FERMA and contractors are working round the clock to rehabilitate roads in the region.
He noted that FERMA has worked on 26 in Gombe State, 24 roads in Bauchi, and 23 in Adamawa. The coordinator listed some of the roads to include; Bauchi-Ningi, Duguri-Yashi, Gombe-Billiri, Gombe-Biu, Gombe-Potiskum and Gombe-Numan-Lafiya-Lamurde, Ngorore-Mayo Belwa, Mayo Belwa-Jada and Mayo Belwa Zing.
He said that FERMA was only complementing the efforts of the Federal Ministry of Works that embarks on road construction.
