Former Governor Isiaka Adeleke of Osun State has debunked the rumour that he defected to the All Progressives Congress because of a promise that he would be given senatorial ticket.
Adeleke said this in Ede on Tuesday at a press conference.
The former governor who had represented Osun West Senatorial District at the senate on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party said tht he had no problem with his former party but with “some characters in the party.”
He said, “There is no iota of truth in the rumour that I was promised senatorial ticket to join the APC. But when we get to the bridge we shall cross it.”
Adeleke said that former Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Mr. Adejare Bello, who was picked as the running mate of Senator Iyiola Omisore would only win his polling unit and not the ward.
He said that Bello was not a threat to his popularity in any way because the people of Ede where both of them hailed love him (Adeleke).
He said, “ Aregbesola has performed very well in terms of capital expenditure but he old still do better in human development. We will address the issues of some who have grievances.”
