f you want to see and know how irresponsibility and insensitivity are writ large in governance and government – federal, state and local – travel by road in Nigeria.
The road between Mokwa and Jebba in Kwara State is a failed road. I still wonder why any sane person would travel that route. Remember that sometime last year the bridge was washed away by rain and the then Acting President Yemi Osinbajo visited and promised it would be fixed in six weeks or so.
I can report to you that as of this morning, that road is still a nightmare.
Can we subject our leaders to travelling by road? Can President Buhari travel from Abuja to Daura by road? Same for Vice President Osinbajo to Lagos? When last did the Senate President Bukola Saraki ply this road? Perhaps if they do they will know how Nigerians are suffering on the roads.
This is a clarion call to all those concerned. Our roads are death traps. Save us if you’re not a curse on us. Thank you.
