Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has joined other well-wishers all over the country in felicitating with the oldest identical twins in Nigeria and second in the world as they celebrated hundred years on earth.
Amosun, who paid a visit to the twins, Mrs. Esther Taiwo Olukoya and Mrs. Emily Kehinde Ogunde at their Ijebu-Ode residence on their centenary celebration, said his government will continue to celebrate the elders who have worked relentlessly for the development of the State.
He said people of Ogun State are particularly happy for the two women, for living up to one hundred years in good health and sound mind, with continuous prayer for more long life and prosperity for them.
Amosun conveyed the sincere congratulations of the government and people of the State to the twin sisters with a promise that his government will continue to look after the elder citizens of the Stat
He prayed that the twins who holds the record of being the oldest in Nigeria and second oldest in the World would surpass the 102 years that the oldest twins in the world presently hold.
The Governor thereafter presented the twins with a congratulatory letter from the government as well as birthday gift for the celebrant
In their separate responses, the Nigeria’s oldest identical twins, Mrs. Esther Taiwo Olukoya and Mrs. Emily Kehinde Ogunde thanked the governor and his team for the visit.
They described governor Amosun’s visit as their best birthday gift, noting that it is the first time in their lives when they will be meeting a sitting governor.
