A socio crusader and retired police commissioner, Alhaji Abubakar Tsav has stated that the incumbent governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Sule Lamido is a better alternative to President Goodluck Jonathan in the 2015 presidential election.
Tsav stated that his preference for Lamido was the failure of President Goodluck Jonathan to show any remarkable achievement in his six years reign, stressing that the re election of Jonathan portends great danger for the unity of the country.
In the statement issued at the weekend, a copy of which was made available to the , Benue State capital, Tsav, who was recently appointed a member of National Agency for the Prohibition of Traffic in Persons (NAPTIP), said, “President Goodluck Jonathan has failed in all ramifications as a leader and needs to take a rest.
“Nigeria has no room for trial and error president; Governor Sule Lamido is a better alternative for 2015. He is a good, astute and experienced leader, who stands out as one of the few good leaders and politicians we have in Nigeria,” he said.
Tsav, who added that the statement, credited to Edwin Clark, describing Lamido as not possessing requisite qualities to steer the ship of the country, argued that a good leader need not possess PhD before discharging his responsibilities well.
He stated that the incumbent president, with such higher qualification has not made meaningful impact in governance. “Afterall, a leader is not expected to teach or lecture his people but to lead and govern them well.”
The retired police officer further described Lamido as someone with foresight and someone who believes in democracy, equity and justice and concerned about the unity of the country.
“In the interest of justice and fair play, Governor Lamido needs the support and cooperation of all democrats for a run for the presidency come 2015,” Tsav concluded.
