Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters (Senate), Senator Ita Enang says he is no longer seeking relocation of the Federal Polytechnic, Ukana which he brought to the State.
Ita Enang stated this during the 2017 Ididep Day Celebration held recently in Ibiono.
He noted that as a Christian and believer in Christ Jesus, he has long blessed the institution and its location, and has been working towards attracting and ensuring that Federal Government allocates monies due to the institution for its take-off and growth.
“I have given my blessings to the Federal Polytechnic Ukana, its location, and God willing, I will bring what is more important and preferable to Ididep.”
He said he contributed greatly to the Bill for an Act establishing the Polytechnic.
The former House of Representatives member and Senator debunked insinuations making the rounds that he has a frosty relationship with Senator Akpabio. He noted that he has a cordial relationship with the former governor of Akwa Ibom State, the state government, and all the Federal lawmakers from the State.
“All the Federal legislators from Akwa Ibom State are working as one because what is important is the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Akwa Ibom State.”
Senator Enang who called for more support and prayers for President Muhammadu Buhari and the APC led Federal Government said, “President Buhari doesn’t want any part of the country to suffer that is why he doesn’t shortchange any State irrespective of political party or religion.”
He said credit should be given to President Buhari’s administration first before governor Udom Emmanuel because the Federal Government has consistently ensured that what is due to Akwa Ibom State is given the state for its development.
The President’s aide pointed out that his persistent call for account on monies that have accrued to the state from Federation Account is to ensure that the citizenry have a sense of belonging in the affairs of the state and the governor uses the money judiciously for the development of the State.
He urged the people of Akwa Ibom and Cross River States to exercise patience with the Federal Government on the proposed dualization of the Calabar – Odukpani – Itu – Ikot Ekpene Road spur Ididep. He explained that the delay was caused by the extension of the road project to Umuahia in Abia State.
Senator Ita Enang said the federal government has mobilized contractors for the project.
“The federal government has approved the dualization of Abak – Ekparakwa – Mkpat Enin – Ikot Abasi road”, Senator Ita Enang disclosed.”
