Confab: Committee receives over 400 memoranda in Bauchi

AS different ethnic nationalities, cultural and religious groups from the North-East zone submitted memoranda to the Presidential Advisory Committee on National Conference in Bauchi, last Saturday, a Women group, Tindeyatso Women Association, from Taraba State, wants the proposed national dialogue to prohibit prostitution in any form and allow every man in the country to marry four wives, irrespective of religious affiliation.

Ameachi vs Omehia. Supreme Court fixes Feb 7 2014 for judgment

The Supreme Court will on February 7, 2014 deliver judgement on the appeal filed by the Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, seeking to nullify a ruling of a Court of Appeal Abuja, which gave the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) governorship candidate for the state, Celestine Omehia, the right to challenge a judgment of the Federal High Court which held that Amaechi’s tenure ended on May 29, 2011.
