Jonah Jang, Plateau State Governor has decried the negative influence of foreigners on the security challenges facing the country.
He said foreigners posed a threat to the nation.
Jang made the disclosure while receiving United States’ Ambassador Martin Brennan in Jos, the Plateau State capital yesterday.
According to him, this negligence of security report “escalated to Boko Haram insurgency and security threats in the Northern part of the country”.
The governor pointed out that he was accused of committing genocide and reported to the International Criminal Court (ICC) but was vindicated when investigation was carried out.
“What we are trying to stop here escalated into Boko Haram in other parts of the North”.
Jang stated that other countries are facing terrorism and insecurity.
He said, “We believe that we will overcome these with our nascent democracy so that Nigeria will lead Africa to develop economically as the most populous black country in the world”.
Meanwhile the American Ambassador Martin Brennan said that the United States was passionate about “the state of security in Nigeria and so are seeking ways to make partnership with Nigeria stronger so that we can help Nigeria achieve security”.
